How Affirmations work on a Complex Level Part 1

We have discussed how affirmations work in a basic example, but now we will tackle the question of how affirmations are able to reprogram your mind in the first place and why they are so effective in training your mind to believe things.

Before we begin to talk about that though, it is important that you understand how the mind works.

The mind is made up of two equally important parts, namely; the conscious and the subconscious. The conscious mind is the one we are most commonly aware of. It is the part of our mind that we use on a daily basis to solve problems and understand the world around us. It is the more engaged part of our minds and enables us to reason. The downside of this half of our minds is that it is questioning and doubtful and takes into account all of our insecurities and bad experiences. Most hindering of all is that it frequently cannot see past our current reality to future possibility.

This means that if we try to convince our conscious mind that we are financially free when it is aware of all our debt and the current poor state of our finances, it will reject this information. This is why it is vitally important that we train up the other side of our minds to counterbalance this realistic side. The other side of our minds can override the conscious side and help us to believe in a brighter future, even in the face of rough current circumstances and we will cover exactly why and how it does this in the next part of this blog.

Until then
