An Introduction to Positive Affirmations

An Introduction to Positive Affirmations

Today’s post is an introduction to positive affirmations for those new to the world of positive thinking.

Positive affirmations are statements or phrases that a person creates to help reassure or empower them to achieve their goals. These statements must always be constructed in the present tense and must always be positive. An affirmation can be as simple as “I am happy and healthy”, or as specific as “I am working hard and being a good employee, therefore my boss is pleased and I am having a positive experience in my workplace”. The specific wording for the affirmation varies from person to person as it is always a personally relevant statement and must be specifically important to the person using it.

Affirmations are often repeated many times out loud by the individual using them so that they are able to believe the words more and more each time and it becomes natural for them to hear and believe the positive thoughts. Through repeating these affirmations time and time again, eventually the person saying them will have programmed their mind to believe these statements to be true. Once the belief exists in your mind that something is true, you are then able to make that truth your reality and achieve whatever goal motivated the affirmation.

This is the end goal of affirmations and the path to achieving this goal and many others will be further discussed in following blog posts.

Until then

It has been my experience that the Universe will give you what you expect and not what you want. The reason for this is that it is your feelings and not your thoughts that will attract whatever happens to you.
